As optional, you can get the 3.0-litre EcoDiesel engine, delivering 260 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque. As exclusive to the TRX trim level only, you will find the 6.2-litre supercharged HEMI V8 engine with 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque.
Towing Capacity Comparison
When properly equipped, the Ram 1500 has a maximum towing capacity of 12,750 pounds, making it perfect for various light-duty towing applications. The standard engine provides a towing capacity of 7,710 pounds, and the optional diesel gets a towing capacity of 12,560 pounds.
The F-150's maximum towing capacity comes in at 13,800 pounds, while the base trim only gets a capacity of 5,000 pounds. It achieves a rating of 12,100 pounds for diesel towing, making the standard and diesel towing ratings of the F-150 much less than the Ram 1500's capacities.
